Every year more data becomes available for use in a Geographic Information System (GIS). A GIS is a useful and powerful tool for manipulating and displaying data. In this workshop, we look at types of data and online sources. We'll show you where to find geographical data such as coastlines, rivers and lakes; cultural data (borders, cities, transport systems); and data suitable for analysis, for example, vegetation, population and electoral data.
