INTENSIVE- Introduction to ArcGIS Pro (CAP staff and HDRs) (GIS300)
Learn to identify spatial patterns, create well-designed maps at a variety of scales, and interrogate spatial data.
In this course you will be taught the basics of map creation and design in ArcGIS Pro software. You will be introduced to core mapping concepts including: how to source and project data; how to choose appropriate symbology; and, how to create clear and balanced maps. You will also be introduced to a range of core analytic and spatial skills for humanities research including: how to summarise and map census data; assess proximity; and, produce density estimates from point datasets.
This course is run as a 3-day intensive.
When: The first round of INTENSIVE- Introduction to ArcGIS will run from Monday February 10 – Wednesday February 12. A second round of the course will run later in June.
Where: Menzies Library Flex Lab (Level 3, Building 2)
Cost: This course code (GIS300) is FREE to CAP staff and HDR students.
Please note: For non-attendance/cancellation of your attendance, the following charges based on the costs for a non-CAP PhD student will apply.
- Notification of cancellation received within 0 – 5 working days of the course date will incur a charge of $260. This charge is equivalent to 100% of course fees for non-CAP PhD Students.
- Notification of cancellation received within 6 – 10 working days of the course date will incur a charge of $130. This charge is equivalent to 50% of course fees for non-CAP PhD Students.
Please note for non-attendance due to illness or caring responsibilities, reasonable evidence will be required to waive the non-attendance fee.
