Introduction to GIS Analysis 1 (GIS301)
Learn a range of simple GIS analyses to support research and teaching.
In this course you be introduced to a range of core analytic and spatial skills for humanities research. Having completed this course you will be able to clip and merge datasets, assess proximity, count the number of features in an area, summarise and map census data and identify the distance and direction between key features.
This course builds on skills developed in Mapping in ArcGIS Pro (GIS100/GIS300). Participants in this course will need to have completed GIS100 or GIS300 or have some familiarity with ArcGIS. Contact Sandy Potter for further information (sandra.potter@anu.edu.au).
This course is a one-day intensive.
When: Friday, February 14, 9am - 5pm.
Where: Menzies Library Flex Lab (Level 3, Building 2)
Cost: This course code (GIS300) is FREE to CAP staff and HDR students.
Please note: For non-attendance/cancellation of your attendance, the following charges based on the costs for a non-CAP PhD student will apply.
- Notification of cancellation received within 0 – 5 working days of the course date will incur a charge of $140. This charge is equivalent to 100% of course fees for non-CAP PhD Students.
- Notification of cancellation received within 6 – 10 working days of the course date will incur a charge of $70. This charge is equivalent to 50% of course fees for non-CAP PhD Students.
Please note for non-attendance due to illness or caring responsibilities, reasonable evidence will be required to waive the non-attendance fee.
Eleven (11) places are allocated for CAP staff and HDR students.
