JCS009 - JCSMR Chemical Management System (CMS)

Overview


The Chemical Management System (CMS) also known as Chemwatch, is an chemical inventory control system which provides a safe and reliable way of managing chemicals. It assists staff and students who:



  • require a Safety Data Sheet for a chemical

  • require a higher access to manage chemical stocks in their area

  • Logging into Chemwatch

  • Search functions:

    • How to search for a current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for a chemical

    • Searching by chemical name

    • Searching by Barcode number



  • Manifest vs SiSOT


The following functions are dependent on your level of access:



  • Adding a chemical to the Manifest

  • Adding a barcoded chemical to the CMS (SiSOT mode)

  • Transferring a chemical between locations in JCSMR

  • Deleting chemicals from the CMS


Other higher level functions will be covered as one-on-one training and are dependent on your access privileges.
