GIS Analysis for Research 2 (GIS602)
In this course you will learn the basics of suitability analyses using raster datasets. You will also begin to explore interpolation and how you can generate continuous surfaces from data points. Finally, you will be introduced to skills for trouble shooting and have a chance to explore how GIS analysis might be applied to your own research.
This course builds on skills developed in Mapping in ArcGIS Pro (GIS100/GIS600) and on GIS Analysis for Research 1 (GIS101/GIS601). Participants in this course will need to have completed GIS100 and GIS101 OR have some familiarity with ArcGIS. Contact Sandy Potter for further information (sandra.potter@anu.edu.au)
This course is run as 4 x 2.5hr modules (1 module per week).
When: GIS Analysis for Research 2 will run on Thursdays from 1:30pm-4pm from September 19 – October 10.
Where: Menzies Library Flex Lab (Level 3, Building 2)
Cost: There is a charge associated with this course for people outside the College of Asia and the Pacific. The charge is $200 for non-CAP HDR students and $360 for non-CAP staff, visitors and emeriti.
For non-attendance/cancellation of your attendance, the following charges will apply.
- Notification of cancellation received within 0 – 5 working days of the course date will incur a charge equivalent to 100% of course fees
- Notification of cancellation received within 6 – 10 working days of the course date will incur a charge equivalent to 50% of course fees
Please note for non-attendance due to illness or caring responsibilities, reasonable evidence will be required to waive the non-attendance fee.
There are 5 places allocated for non-CAP staff and HDR students in this training.
